Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet Sugar Cookie Icing


– 2 cups RMPS Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet
– ½ cup solid vegetable shortening
– ½ cup butter, softened
– 4 cups confectioners’ sugar


  1. Bring RMPS Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet to boil in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring until liquid has reduced to about ¼ cup for 15-25 minutes before letting cool
  2. Beat shortening and butter with mixer until smooth in a bowl
  3. Add sugar 1 cup at a time, beating well
  4. Add wine reduction, beat on medium speed until frosting is fluffy.
